Add page numbers to PDF files when a simple visible sequence is needed. TiPDF writes dark 11-point numbers at the bottom center of all or selected pages, starting from the value you choose.
Add page numbers to PDF processing resolves selected pages in ascending file-page order. It converts the configured start into a number, then writes start plus the selected-page position. If pages 2,4,6 are chosen with start 10, those pages receive 10,11,12. Unselected pages receive no new label.
Add page numbers to PDF labels use embedded standard Helvetica at 11 points, dark gray, horizontally centered against the page width and positioned 20 PDF points above the bottom coordinate. There is no interface control for font, color, prefix, suffix, Roman numerals, total-page notation or placement.
Add page numbers to PDF creates visible page content, not the document's logical page-label dictionary. It does not rename thumbnails in every viewer or reconcile printed numbers already present in the artwork. The result is a new edited PDF, and users must check for collisions with footers, crop boxes and existing page furniture.

Add page numbers to PDF accepts one authentic .pdf up to 100 MiB and 500 pages. TiPDF validates the extension, signature and parser locally. Protected content requires authorized unlocking. The operation does not OCR, render or inspect the visual footer before drawing.
The Add Page Numbers to PDF field supports all, individual one-based values, comma-separated ranges, descending ranges, odd and even. The shared parser deduplicates selections and the editor processes the resulting indexes in ascending order, so numbering follows file order rather than the typed token order.
Add page numbers to PDF starts from a whole value between 1 and 9999 in the interface. Labels can continue beyond 9999 when a large starting number and many selected pages are combined, because the handler adds position after reading the start; inspect unusual sequences rather than assuming a fixed digit width.
Review representative pages for existing numbers, legal text, crop limits or dense artwork near the bottom center.
Use all for a complete file or enter exact ranges. Numbering advances only across selected pages in ascending file order.
Enter a value from 1 to 9999. Calculate the expected final label from the number of selected pages.
The browser embeds Helvetica, draws each centered label 20 points above the bottom and saves a new document.
Compare several labels, every selection boundary and the last numbered page. Print-preview pages with small margins and retain the original.
Add Page Numbers to PDF after merge and organization are final. Later insertion or deletion will not update visible labels.
Add Page Numbers to PDF from a value greater than one when a plain Arabic sequence matches the document convention.
Add Page Numbers to PDF only on chosen pages in file order. Unselected pages create visual gaps even though labels remain consecutive.
Create a disposable reference copy for discussion. Existing printed numbers and the added footer can conflict, so participants must agree which system they cite.
Add page numbers to PDF uses vector text without intentionally rasterizing or recompressing existing content. Numbers should remain sharp at zoom, but fixed 11-point sizing may be too small or large for unusual page dimensions. A y coordinate of 20 can overlap an existing footer or fall outside a restrictive crop box.
Adding visible content rewrites the PDF. Certificate signatures covering the original bytes can become invalid, and forms, tags, annotations or accessibility reading order are not automatically updated to describe the label. The tool does not reserve margin space or shift page content upward. Use specialist publishing software when placement and accessible pagination are formal requirements. Compare the first, middle and final labels against a written expected sequence, then print-preview portrait, landscape and cropped pages. Confirm that footnotes, legal notices, barcodes and trim marks remain readable.
The source PDF is parsed, edited and saved in browser memory on the current device. No document bytes are sent to TiPDF conversion, storage, sharing or AI endpoints, and the handler does not request remote approval. Normal website resources may still use network access.
Refreshing ends the active job, but source and downloaded result remain on the device. TiPDF cannot delete local files, backups or later shares. Check that added labels do not expose an internal sequence before distributing a sensitive packet.
Yes. This local workflow has no checkout requirement, subject to file and page limits.
No. Labels use a fixed centered footer position, font, color and style.
No. New labels are added over page content; existing artwork is not detected or removed.
No. The handler only draws plain decimal footer numbers.
At the horizontal center, 20 PDF points above the bottom, using dark 11-point Helvetica.
They are processed in ascending file order, and the start value increments only for selected pages.
No. The handler draws plain decimal numbers only.
Use Watermark PDF for one diagonal red text label with chosen opacity.
Use Organize PDF for one complete sequence and a single reordered download.
Add a visible text note to selected PDF pages without replacing existing content.
Use Flatten PDF for supported layers, form fields and annotations with exact counts.
Add page numbers to PDF capability copy was verified on July 18, 2026 against the range parser and local editor that centers 11-point Helvetica labels at y=20, using start plus selected-page position. Verification covers all-page and partial selections, a non-one start, consecutive labels across nonadjacent source pages, visible artifact output and invalid range rejection. Review also confirms that unselected pages receive no new label and that the original local file object remains separate. This PDF page numbering evidence is limited to the implemented plain-label path. It excludes header placement, custom styling, Roman numerals, total-page formats, existing-number detection and accessible page-label repair.
